|b Michael’s major research interest is the history and philosophy of science and the environmental history of China, especially focusing on dili (the principles of the earth) and fengshui (wind & water). He has translated major dili texts over different dynasties to map the development of China’s environmental understanding. His research interests in communication skills, university education and management deal with their relationship to culture, critical thinking and knowledge production.
